Rue France 1er, Paris

The sight line from the entrance of this store, is disrupted by varying transparent screen walls whose graphical and linear arrangement is referential of the fabrication techniques of the woven textiles such as lace and knitwear. These screen walls rise from powder coloured terrazzo floors up through the grid of the ceiling structure and serve to slice the space into various zones. Flat flood lights defines various zones throughout the space, accompanied with warmer spotlights. A great mirror lines the wall adjacent to the stairwell activating the space with reflections of movement and light, effectively linking the two levels of the store. Downstairs, backlit mesh screens creates a more structured graphical world. The minimalistic purity of the store is boldly underlined by a confident marble onyx cash desk and clean rails set upon marble cylinders from which garments are hung.

Bozarthfornell is an office for architecture and design, founded 2010 by Andreas Bozarth Fornell. The office has a diverse portfolio and works within all different fields of architecture but the main focus so far is within the world of fashion retail. The people at Bozarthfornell have diverse backgrounds, something that we utilise in alternate ways for every different project.

We strongly believe that architecture and design is an art form. It gives strength and confidence to the individual as well as business corporations. This synthesis of concept, beauty and function completely absorbs our attention in every project. Our architectural vision derives its expression from the art world. It’s inspired by our travels and influenced by the pop-culture that surrounds us daily. It is intimately connected to both context and function.
